George's lip
One of these bikers is our George. He seems bent
on crashing and hurting himself.
On the
client side, we have had a couple of strange ones.
The week has been similar to the previous one.
Not much to report. The week has been fairly stable overall: better than last
year but not quite as good as
2006.
There have definitely been more
bikers this year, and this in part explains the improved turnover, as they seem
to appreciate Harold's. One of these bikers is our George. He seems bent on
crashing and hurting himself. Already scratched over a large part of his body,
he decided to do a somewhat larger wipe-out on Monday, with his tooth going
through his lip ad requiring a few stitches. Unsurprisingly, the doctor informed
him that he was not allowed any kisses on the lips. With his not-so-pretty face
and these instructions, we wonder why they have been fewer girls dropping by. At
all events, Tuesday's day-shift was particularly difficult for him as the
anesthetic gradually wore off.
As for
Alan, he has still been taking it easy, though he is now much rested. However,
there is no point in jumping into the deep end again quite
yet.
On the client side, we have had a
couple of strange ones. First there was the guy who left in a great huff
complaining that we should ask frs 2 for 15 minutes of WiFi use. He wasn't even
prepared to buy a drink. Amazing these people who assume that we are a charity;
and they probably charge a bomb for their services. Then there was another
person who called us to check him in for his flight and print out his boarding
pass - "I'll pick it up later". He couldn't understand that we are not a travel
agency, that we don't do secretarial service, and that at any rate we would not
have access to his reservation.
