Old Harold's back open
...the old Harold's is back open staffed by Alan
and George Russell
After the Gourmet Burger hiatus, the old Harold's
is back open staffed by Alan and George Russell, to the satisfaction of our old
faithful clientèle. Back is the old menu with only a few minor
modifications such as the inclusion of deep-fried shrimp, along with the pricing
structure of 2008. Back is the big screen for sporting events and the full
Internet service. Back is the self-service sauce box along with the
much-demanded Harold's sauce. And back is the bench with lower tables: although
the high tables are trendy, they are impractical if not dangerous for families
with small kids and the elderly
alike.
Aside from Alan and George,
Silvia Irenze who worked this summer, will be back, and we should see the return
of Selina Galbraith who was with us way back in 2005. New to the team are
graphic designer and sometime cocktail barmaid Isabelle (Izzy) Glanville and
ex-fireman Jamie Clark who has quit after 7 years of service in search of a new
experience. So we are looking pretty set up for the
winter.
Thanks to early opening of the
lifts, business has been pretty good for the time of year with more-than-usual
weekenders and an abnormal number of people looking for jobs. So, despite the
economic climate, we are pretty upbeat about the coming
season.
