Build up to Christmas
The last couple of weeks have not been
particularly exiting and the town as a whole has been quieter than previous
years. Not only have we found this to be the case in Harold's, but most of the
other businesses are well down on previous years. Even the weekend has been
disappointing. Holiday makers have been arriving this weekend for the Christmas
holidays, but it is still far from the usual
madness.
That said, the feedback of our
clients has been positive and we are still getting a steady stream of our old
regulars who deserted the place last year coming back in. In the space of half
an hour yesterday we had two "oldies" and a ex-staff member that said almost
identical things. The atmosphere was unwelcoming and they only came in once
(actually, the ex-staff member walked straight out again as there were bad
vibes). It's nice to hear these compliments on our return, but there must still
be a whole lot of people out there unaware that the Harold's that they knew and
loved is back. And this has not helped the current state of
affairs.
One clientèle that we
have lost is the football crowd with bars such as the Atelier taking advantage
of the hiatus to develop their own crowd of supporters. So we have an uphill
struggle there that we are currently working
on.
The current team is settling down
and we believe that we have good one that is reflecting on the positive
atmosphere on the place.
We all wish
everyone a Merry Christmas!
